It was perhaps predestined that Peter would become one of the foremost experts in direct marketing. After all, he comes from direct marketing “royalty.” His father Barry worked alongside David Ogilvy himself and started Ogilvy & Mather’s direct division, before founding Barry Blau & Partners.
Over 20 years, Peter worked alongside his dad to build the world’s largest independent direct marketing agency. As Creative Director, he built successful award-winning campaigns for British Telecom, Citicorp, The Hartford, IBM, Charles Schwab, Dreyfus, MCI, Pacific Bell and Visa. In 1998, Peter moved to London to take the agency global, launching the Blau Tequila network across Europe. After the sale of the Blau agency, Peter launched Customer Growth in London in January 2001, but moved back to the U.S. in mid-2002 – when he learned Americans aren’t eligible for royalty over there.
Peter’s awards include a NY ADDY Best in Show, John Caples First Place Award, DMA Gold Echo and selection as 1997 Chairman of Direct Marketing Days/NY.
